Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thi Thanh Huyen

Senior Researcher, Head of Livestock System and Environment Research, National Institute of Animal Science, Vietnam 

Huyen graduated as a veterinary doctor from Hanoi Agricultural University, Vietnam and has been working for the National Institute of Animal Science since 1997. In 2004 she gained a master of Agricultural Science from Hohenheim University, Germany and went on to receive a DAAD scholarship and complete doctoral studies in 2010.

Huyen works with the Collaborative Research Program ‘Sustainable land use and rural development in mountainous regions of Southeast Asia’ (SFB 564 – The Upland Program) funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and as a research associate in the Institute of Animal Production in the Tropics and Subtropics - University of Hohenheim.

Huyen has gained broad experience as a coordinator and a senior researcher for rural development in remote regions focusing on the poor and ethnic groups. She has proved her leadership skills by coordinating diverse project teams, demonstrating extraordinary skills in intercultural communication.
