Dr. Nozomi Kawarazuka

Social Scientist, International Potato Centre, CGIAR.

Nozomi works for inclusive and equitable international agricultural development. Drawing on feminist social theory and political ecology, her research explores unequal distribution of agricultural technologies, gender and agricultural mechanisation, social dimensions of food security and nutrition, gender analysis in informal and upgraded agricultural value-chains.

Her current regional focus is in Southeast Asia. In her early career, she worked for development projects as a NGO worker in sub-Saharan Africa. She has a BSc in Nutrition Sciences from Japan, and an MA and Ph.D in Development Studies from the University of East Anglia, UK.
