Lastiana Yuliandari

Founder and Director of Aliet Green

Lastiana Yuliandari is the founder and director of Aliet Green, a female-run social enterprise, with a mission to work with local farmers, especially women, to give them a chance to improve their incomes and family livelihoods.

Starting out as a trader of organic products when she was 23 years old and still an undergraduate student, Lastiana recognised an unmet demand for high quality products. She became a food processor in 2013 and established Aliet Green to supply this market. From small beginnings in 2009, Aliet Green now works with over 1000 small scale producers and employs more than 130 people, the majority of whom are women from disadvantaged backgrounds. For these women Aliet Green provides an important opportunity to gain skills education and improve their lives.

Being a pioneer in some major certifications such as fair trade, BRC Global for Food Safety Standards, and Gluten Free, Lastiana has built Aliet Green into a reputable female social enterprise in Indonesia committed to providing the highest quality food ingredients to the world. Lastiana has significant plans to deliver substantial additional value to Aliet Green’s stakeholders as well as innovation to the organic industry in Indonesia.

Aliet Green embraces produces high quality food products with an emphasis on supporting women. such as the purest organic coconut products processed by 70% of which are female employees, many of whom are single mothers, widowed or returned migrant workers.

Prior to leading her ground-breaking social enterprise, Lastiana worked in various international NGOs handling issues such as migration, human trafficking, child protection and crisis response. Lastiana was a member of the Save the Children team during the earthquake experienced in Yogyakarta in 2006.

As an entrepreneur Lastiana is committed to providing a consistent supply of high quality organic products. This commitment has combined with her strong background in community engagement and social justice to create a values driven agribusiness model that achieves a positive impact on the livelihoods of all of its stakeholders.
