Senior Economic Development and Policy Analyst

Meekha is a senior economic development and policy analysis expert working in the international development sector with a special focus on digital financial inclusion, private sector development, agriculture market system development, climate financing, women economic empowerment, International taxation policies, trade and FDI in developing and emerging economies.  

Her core skills include impact investments, pro-poor focused economic growth, research and development, project planning and implementation, performance evaluation and monitoring, knowledge management and communication.

Meekha has a background working for commercial banks, large multilateral and bilateral projects in the area of economic development in Asia, Africa, North America and Europe. She has served as an Advisor to IFAD supported projects executed by Ministry of Agriculture and livestock in Nepal while collaborating with similar projects in South East Asia. She worked as a financial inclusion Expert in United Nations project to offer last mile finance models that unlock public and private resources especially at the domestic level to reduce poverty and support local economic development. She has conducted performance evaluation of large USAID projects and has provided consulting expertise to international organization in Africa, UK, Europe and Asia.  

Meekha has Masters in Economics from UK and MBA on Finance from Nepal. She has received in-person international trainings in excellent institutions in the US, Canada, UK, Netherlands, Italy, South Africa, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Philippines, Myanmar and India in the area of Climate change, leadership, financial inclusion, private sector development, trade, economic development and partnership for development. She has made presentations in national and international conferences, workshops and meetings including in the World Bank- USA, Research council in South Africa, Central Bank and ADB in Philippines, microfinance association in Myanmar, Ministry of agriculture in Cambodia, SNV Vietnam, APRACA- Thailand and other research and academic institutions in Italy, Netherlands and Canada. Very recently, she presented her experience and learnings from working on development project in Oxford University, School of Economics.  

Her publication includes Cooperating rating tools, financial literacy manuals, tax policy impact analysis research, tax indicators guidebooks, and National deprived sector lending policy’s need assessment, integrating renewable energy and agriculture value chain analysis reports and other articles in national daily 

Meekha loves photography, sky and mountains are her favourite subjects. She is inquisitive in understanding cultural commonalities and has travelled to 80% of her own country and at least three dozen other countries across the globe.
